About Sociological Bulletin Journal
Sociological Bulletin, Journal of the Indian Sociological Society was launched on March 1, 1952. To G. S. Ghurye goes the credit for founding both the Indian Sociological Society and the Sociological Bulletin. It is a triannual refereed journal. The journal is the major platform for the sociologists and social scientists to share their research with the professional fraternity. There is no bar on contributions from the non-sociologists and non-members of the Indian Sociological Society. Owing to its broad spectrum in accepting contributions from all social scientists and about any region of the world, it is pertinent to inform that various articles despite their main focus on India have published about societies of thirty seven different countries. In terms of nature of articles, three kinds of them have been published, namely discursive, empirical and historical and in terms of nature of data used by the article it could be qualitative, quantitative, textual, triangulation and historical. The Journal has never entertained narrow boundaries of vision and its mission. Any article submitted with sociological inputs has been given equal consideration. This practice has been quite fruitful in terms of diversity of fields covered in the Journal. Journal follows a rigorous double-blind reviewing policy.Three could be three to five sections in the journal, though two sections remain unchanged.Unchanged Sectionsa. Research Articles: only the research articles are refereed.b. Book Reviews: vary from number to number invariably guided by limits to the size of the manuscriptOther sections which may not appear in every numbera. Communication/Discussionb. Professionc.
