This observation remains true today: JCL welcomes a wide range of critical and theoretical submissions on literatures that have been shaped by the British Empire and its residues. We recognize that colonialism is not safely in the past, and the Journal reflects literature's shifting margins, including critiques of texts that explore diasporas and neocolonialism. We also welcome articles that connect gender and sexuality with colonialism, the Commonwealth, and postcoloniality.
